Coming to the end of the academic year. What is end of term like here at Huaxi Country Garden Intern

The students are well prepared, well we like to think so here. The summer semester is 20 weeks long, there are a few national holidays to break the semester. Teachers and students are all working hard knowing that the last week is the end of semester exams. For me as the oral English teacher, i have to ear mark 2 whole weeks, this covers 8 lesson for grade 4, 5 and 6. I can over these 40 minutes lessons, see each student and spend up to 10 minutes to engage them in a conversation and ask them to describe a picture for me. From this i can gauge in what direction the students performance is going.

Looking forward, we have 2 weeks, plus what is left of this week. of the school semester. The school then embarks on a 2 week summer camp, this is for new and existing students. It's a great way to end the year, the activities are more gamed based and we work towards an end of week performance for the school! Maybe this year I will try to explain the concept of British humor in Doctor Doctor jokes.....it may fall of deft ears?

As this site develops, it will become much more interactive with other teachers posting and plenty of videos and pictures of the school and staff and students, we hope to give all that view the site, a taste of life in both the community and the educational setting here.
